HSDB bus monitor
The KAD/HBM/102 receives Ethernet (10BaseT) traffic then parses and distributes it to other Acra KAM-500 modules. The KAD/HBM/102 monitors traffic only on the receive signal pair. A second port can forward a mirror copy of all frames received on the primary port, for transmission on the FTI network or to a packet recorder.
The KAD/HBM/102 can be configured to respond to specific ping and acknowledgement requests but otherwise does not transmit via Ethernet.
The KAD/HBM/102 parses messages within HSDB packets. It filters packets based first on the 4-bit Pipe ID and then on the 2-byte IOP (Input/Output Processing) HSDB Packet ID field. The entire IOP HSDB packet is triple buffered and tagged with a time stamp, packet size and message count. Parameters within the IOP packet can be read individually across the chassis backplane for transmission from other Acra KAM-500 modules.
The KAD/HBM/102 does not handle fragmented HSDB packets.
