Solid State Data Recorder - Compact Extended
S3DR- CE (Compact Expanded) rugged solid-state data recorders share many features with the smaller S3DR-C+ recorder. The main difference is in the increased number and range of data interfaces that can be connected. In S3DR-CE, a total of six 10- way Glenair Mighty Mouse bayonet style connectors, in addition to the power connector, permit all the input options configurable on S3DR-C+ plus some major additions to be implemented.
Interfaces that can be accommodated in the expansion area include 8 and 16 channel analog options, 8 channel voice, multiple ARINC 429 and MIL-STD -1553B bus monitor inputs or dual channel MPEG -2-encoded video. This makes for an extremely compact signal recording capability, which has found many applications in flight test and airborne reconnaissance, as well as in data acquisition on land vehicles.
S3DR-CE can be configured by the user (within the installed hardware interfaces) to optimize usage of the storage media and to define precise details of the required recording regime. This process can be carried out simply and quickly with the aid of a recorder configuration function, integral with the data replay and extraction software REVEAL.
